HISTORY OF HIMC
The HIMC is a family-owned educational institution offering preschool, elementary, and secondary education. It traces its roots to a humble beginning and continues to look forward to further growth in the educational field.
It all started with a young lady's mission in life. This lady was Carmencita "Chit" Hernandez Reyes, who envisioned a progressive society wherein members traced their roots to a disciplined and structured setting, a place recognizing the uniqueness of every individual for self-discovery, appreciation, and self-application, thus forming the foundation of an individual into becoming a pillar of its society.

CARMENCITA HERNANDEZ REYES
Foundress: Holy Infant Montessori Center
Summer of 1977, the Holy Infant Montessori Center's (HIMC) flame was lighted under the tutelage of Mrs. Reyes, in a cozy residence in West Triangle. A year later, HIMC was established in B.F. Homes, Caloocan City.Consequently, the Grade School Department was founded in the year 1983.
Year 1986 was a milestone, with the HIMC with Preschool garnering Recognition Status from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS). This was followed by Complete Elementary Courses being recognized in 1988.
School year 1992, the torch of leadership was passed on to Mr. Gerard H. Reyes. After four years, school year 1996, the HIMC committed itself deeper to its vision by opening a High School Department and responding to the call of the times by integrating computer education in its offerings.
Subsequently, the management constructed a covered athletic court and initiated the renovation of the old building to suit the ever-changing needs of the educational institution.
Year 2004 marked the expansion of the main building. Also, the High School Department was awarded Recognition Status by the Department of Education.
Year 2012 marked the start of the DepEd-mandated K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum in HIMC. Senior High School was opened in school year 2016-2017 with the air-conditioning of all classrooms. Then HIMC had its first batch of Senior High School graduates in SY 2017-2018.
Tracing and continuing to look back at HIMC's humble beginnings have been very enriching to the school. Specifically, always envisioning the mission of its Foundress, that is to have profit as secondary to practicing sound business principles and quality education, has been the secret to the school's success.
With the onset of the worldwide pandemic during the school years 2020-2021 to 2022-2023, a new chapter in Holy Infant Montessori Center (HIMC) unfolded as we ventured into exclusively online learning. Google Classroom served as our official Online Learning Management System. This new challenge demonstrated HIMC's adaptability to unexpected circumstances and changes. As the new normal began to settle, HIMC resumed full face-to-face classes in the school year 2023-2024. Despite this return to traditional learning, HIMC retained the use of Google Classroom as an additional learning platform. This top management decision ensures that we are prepared for any future disruptions, as we continue to provide a flexible, blended learning environment for our students. This integration of both face-to-face and online learning platforms highlights HIMC's commitment to using technology to enhance educational outcomes. Our experience during the pandemic has made us stronger and more resilient, ready to tackle any future challenges with confidence and innovation as we prepare to celebrate HIMC's Golden Anniversary in 2027. Reflecting on and honoring HIMC's humble beginnings have been very enriching for the school. Specifically, adhering to the mission of its Foundress—prioritizing quality education and sound business principles over profit—has been the key to the school's success. This steadfast commitment continues to guide HIMC as it moves forward, ensuring a bright future for all its students and the broader community.
